Taylor was inspired to write "Love Story" when she was going through a difficult situation with a guy she liked, whom she was not "officially" dating. The song is rumored to be about two singers - the first being Joe Jonas, as it was recorded in March of 2008, a few months before he actually started dating. Other songs such as "Forever and Always" and "Last Kiss" are more explicitly about him.
